TOWN HOUSE, 75006 PARIS
This town house from the beginning of the 19th century situated at the back of a large courtyard suffered from a layout that rendered the rooms cramped, it was decorated in dark colours and was crowded with furniture. The choice of natural materials (lava rock for the floor, matte wenge veneer for the pivoting doors) and emphasis on the elements preserved (stairway to the upper floor, outer window frames) reinforce the impression of a sober and minimalist design while optimising the volumes of this exceptional residence at the heart of Saint Germain-des-Prés.
